Description

:icondonotuseplz::iconmyartplz:

Back in April 2015 I saw some photos that kind of had a painted feel, though they were clearly not painted, and wanted to experiment a bit, and ended up with my Painted Photo Experiment. It didn't turn out as planned, but I did come up with an interesting technique. So I decided to go bigger and create a photomanipulation that looked like an actual oil painting. In case you couldn't guess, this is that photomanipulation. Technically, I finished this version in June 2015, but I held off on uploading it because I wanted to add a moss texture. I haven't had any results that I like yet, and I don't think I'm going to have much time to work on it for a while, so I'm calling it finished for now.

Thanks to my friend and coworker Andrew Frye for the Latin translation. I hope it's right. Ha.

Nostalgia
I turn away from the dawn
to pine away in the dusk

I've never seen nostalgia as something nice. Why waste away in the shadows of the past when you can thrive in the vibrant light of the present? If something about your past was genuinely better, remember it only to improve the present.
